Wat doet Paceshifters in het rijtje Ramones, Talking Heads, Biohazard, Nada Surf, Mick Jagger, Living Colour, Soul Asylum en Julian Cope?
A:
Onze eigen Nederlandse high voltage rockband Paceshifters gaat begin volgende maand gedurende drie weken zijn nieuwe CD opnemen met de legendarische producer Ed Stasium, bekend vanwege zijn grote commerciële en muzikale successen met bovenstaande bands. Deze meervoudig Grammy Award winnende producer ( vaak “the fifth Ramone” genoemd) reageerde na het beluisteren van enkele nieuwe demo’s razend enthousiast en nodigde de band meteen uit om de nieuwe CD bij hem op te komen nemen: “Guys this is REAL ROCK, no top 40 bull….”, aldus Stasium.
Dus bivakkeren Seb Dokman (zanger/gitarist), Paul Dokman (zanger/bassist) en drummer Koen Klarenbeek van 4 tot en met 26 oktober in Stasiums studio in het Amerikaanse Durango, Colorado om de opvolger van de debuut-CD One For The Road te vereeuwigen. Die CD verscheen in 2010 via Suburban Records en bracht de band onder meer De Wereld Draait Door, talloze festivals, twee uitverkochte shows met Therapy? en een grote tournee met o.a. Shaking Godspeed.
Het afgelopen jaar heeft het rocktrio zijn live-ervaring benut voor het schrijven van nieuwe nummers, die qua strakheid en live-feel One For The Road moeten – en zullen! – overtreffen. ,,We noemen het zelf high voltage rock”, laat een uitgelaten Seb Dokman weten. ,,Te gek dat we met een grootheid als Ed Stasium mogen werken! De Ramones zijn ons met de paplepel ingegoten, dus dit is een beetje a dream come true”, lacht hij.
Omdat Seb nog studeert moest hij de schooldirectie wel nog formeel om toestemming vragen voor zijn geplande afwezigheid van vier weken. Seb: ,,Dat was grappig. Ik volg de muzikantenopleiding aan de Herman Brood Academie, dus ik word opgeleid voor het muzikantenleven, zeg maar. Ik vroeg de directrice toestemming om de maand oktober afwezig te zijn. Op de waarom-vraag antwoordde ik zo nonchalant mogelijk: ‘om onze nieuwe CD in Colorado met Ed Stasium op te gaan nemen in zijn studio in Colorado; ik denk dat ik daar heel wat van kan leren’. Het gevolg: open mond van verbazing en een volmondig JA, NATUURLIJK!” Dus vliegen we begin volgende maand naar de States. Dat is natuurlijk spannend, maar we hebben vooral veel zin om met Uncle Eddie een vette plaat te maken”

Message from paceshifters HQ..
NEW SONGS
A message from Paceshifters HQ.. it was a long time ago since the last newsletter. So let’s give you guys a short update. Right now we are busy writing new songs for the second album. I can tell you that they rock!! We’re making pre productions of the songs in our attic. They are sounding nice already..
The new songs come up very quickly, if you come to one of our shows you will probably hear one of the new songs.. hope you like them!
GROEZROCK
Some good news, we will play at Groezrock (Belgium Festival). It’s a big festival and we will perform on the 23th of april. The OOR(dutch music magazine) picked us out to play at this nice festival! We would like to thank the OOR for that!
MARKY RAMONE’S BLITZKRIEG
O, and we have another nice show confirmed, we will support Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg in 013(Tilburg, the Netherlands)!! This show will be on June 18th.

Blaine’s birthday party (Nashville Pussy)
Yesterday we played on Blaine’s birthday party!!
It was in a very nice bar in Nijmegen called Cafe Funkenstein..
We met the owners of the bar last week in Burgerweeshuis at our show together with Nashville Pussy and they are awesome and really hospitality..
Blaine joined us on his own Nashville Pussy song: The Bitch Just Kicked Me Out.
Thanks to them and ofcourse Mr Blaine himself!

WRAPPING UP THE TOUR
THE END OF THE ‘SOUND OF THE ROCK N ROLL UNDERGROUND’ TOUR
Yesterday we had our last ‘Sound of the Rock n Roll Underground’ show in ‘De Groene Engel’. And it was a good one!
We had so much fun this tour with the other bands and played in the greatest venues of Holland..
Thanks to everyone who checked us out! And thanks to Shaking Godspeed, Charlie Jones’ Big Band and Sunnpimp for the great time!
NASHVILLE PUSSY
This Thursday we will support Nashville Pussy in Burgerweeshuis(Deventer), that will be a kickass show for sure!

Currently we are making plans for our next single. Three different band members, three different opinions.. It’s gonna be a dogfight!
If we figured out which song it’s gonna be, we can continue with the plans for the videoclip..
